(Washington, D.C.) – The day before President Joe Biden signed the bill into law, U.S. House of Representatives on Wednesday passed S. 475, the Juneteenth National Independence Day Act, to establish Juneteenth National Independence Day, June 19, as a legal public holiday.

The 4th Annual JuneteenthKC Annual Cultural Parade returns to the 18th & Vine Historic District on June 12, 2021. The event starts at 12 PM. The Juneteenth Heritage Festival will be held June 19, starting at 12 noon.
