6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m.
Midwest Genealogy Center
Join us for a special evening celebrating the opening of the Monkey Brain Art Exhibit at the Midwest Genealogy Center! Don't miss your chance to be among the first to see art created by local veterans through the Monkey Brain Art program. Public registration is now open for this free reception hosted by the Library Lovers program.
In Buddhist practice, “monkey brain” refers to a restless or chaotic mind - something many veterans with PTSD experience daily. Monkey Brain Art was founded in 2021 to help veterans, first responders, nurses, and caregivers find calm through art, meditation, and mindfulness. Participants explore painting, photography, woodburning, and more, gaining tools to continue their healing journey.
At the event, you can:
- Visit with the artists and hear their stories
- Enjoy delicious hors d’oeuvres while exploring the exhibit
- Take an optional behind-the-scenes tour of the Midwest Genealogy Center
Celebrate the creativity, resilience, and healing of local veterans - and see firsthand how art can transform lives.
Registration is required. RSVP today and be part of this inspiring evening!
