Seismic vibrations are rattling the sports world this week as the earthquake from George Floyd’s murder sent aftershocks into yet other arenas.
As a LeBron James “Instagram” image (shown in the photo at right) comparing Colin Kaepernick’s “taking a knee” alongside the now famous image of an officer’s knee pressed into Floyd’s neck, key officials in the NFL, NASCAR and Soccer spurred decision-making changes.

Last Friday, amid nationwide unrest following Floyd’s killing, NFL commissioner Roger Goodell released a video in which he apologized for how the NFL had failed to support players’ protests over racial injustice and police brutality during the national anthem.
