For the first time in Jackson County history, Black and Hispanic legislators command a majority of elected members serving on the Jackson County Legislature. Members were sworn in last week and the full legislature held its first legislative meeting for 2023 on Monday where DaRon McGee was elected as the new chairman and Megan Marshall was elected vice chairperson.
