The 2020 March on KC commemorating the 57th Anniversary of the March on Washington held last Friday was a huge success, as hundreds marched peacefully, beginning at 12th and Locust and ending at the WW1 Museum and Memorial. A rally followed the march and masks and social distancing were required. A coalition of area organizations combined to support the event spearheaded by the SCLC-GKC. Following the march/rally, the Reverend Dr. Vernon P. Howard, Jr., SCLC-GKC president said, “We are thankful and humbled beyond words amid the overwhelming support and energy of our lead organizers Urban League of KC, NAACP KCMO, CCO, Urban Summit, Black Rainbow KC and many KC based organizations and leaders, who like us, will never be silent or stop working until justice rolls down in KC like waters and righteousness like a mighty stream.”
