Last week, Kansas City, Missouri mourned the tragic loss of 4-year-old LeGend Taliferro who was killed when someone drove by and shot into the apartment killing Legend as he slept. The incident horrified and devastated the community. Still unsolved, Legend’s family members, local activists, members of the clergy, and city and law enforcement officials are pleading for anyone with any information that would lead to the arrest and conviction of Legend’s killer to come forward. A $25,000 reward has been offered.

Legend’s murder and the growing incidences of unsolved homicides that are occurring in Kansas City have garnered the attention of Missouri Gov. Mike Parson and the U.S. Department of Justice. At K.C. Globe presstime Wednesday it was reported that DOJ will help Kansas City in its investigation of unsolved homicides and non-fatal shootings. The effort has been named Operation Legend.
