October 6, 2023—Colorado Buffaloes Coach Deion Sanders was a little under the weather according to Coach Gary “Flea” Harrell and announcer Mark Johnson who took the stage in his absence on Thursday.

“We are going without Coach Prime here today," Johnson said. "We received notification a little while ago that (he) was a little under the weather and had a bad reaction to his immune IVs, is what I was told.”

According to Buffs Beat@Fan Nation reporter Brian Schaible, Harrell did an outstanding job filling in for Sanders. He talked about the matchup with Arizona State and how the Buffs need to come away with a win this weekend in Tempe. Prime's assistant also commented about his status going into week six.

“Well, you know, we had a team meeting this morning and any time he’s not in our presence we know something is wrong, he doesn’t miss very much. So, I went and checked up on him, he wasn’t feeling well, so we resumed the meeting but he was at practice, for the entire time, he’s just not at full strength right now but he’s trying to take care of that.”

On whether he’ll be there on Saturday “no doubt about it” Harrell said.

Colorado will face Arizona State on Saturday. It will be the first Buffaloes game that won't be nationally televised with Pac-12 Networks coverage starting at 6:30 p.m. ET.
