Is KCMO City Hall the Victim of a Cyber Attack?

KCMO City Hall this week canceled some of its municipal services, one of its City Council committee meetings and later promptly canceled the regular Council meeting scheduled for today (Thursday) after the City Hall reported some computer outages earlier this week. Reportedly, the FBI is looking into this issue, but when asked by a reporter today whether City Hall was victimized by a cyber attack and if so, whether it is being investigated by the FBI, Mayor Quinton Lucas did not confirm nor deny the question and referred reporters to the FBI.

Voters Deny $420 Million Bond Issue for KCKPS

The few voters who turned out Tuesday to decide on a $420 million bond issue that if passed, would have paved the way for opening five new schools, an aquatic center and a library branch—rejected the proposal. Now school board and District officials have said they will go back to the drawing board to come up with a new proposal to support some of the much needed renovations to area schools and provide for the construction of new ones, eliminating the existing mobile classrooms.
